Also some more news, this time regarding the ibex packaging. Now with many different models of ibex tablet available, for enviromental reasons all tablets will soon be packaged in the same ibex Tablet Computer box. This packaging will be shared by other ibex tablets as well as the ibex flytouch 5. ibex have told me, when they return to only marketing 3 or less tablets, like normal, then they will also return to unique packaging for each model.

All Flytouch 3 production has now switched over to the Flytouch 5.

Christmas time was very busy for the ibex Flytouch 3 which has now cleared through all remaining stockpiles of the Flytouch 3. All FT3 production has now switched to the latest version of Flytouch, the ibex Flytouch 5 Wopad.
The Tegrapads, Flytouch 4's and the Flytouch 5 are now the models being made on the production lines.

FlanFlinger, one of apad.tv's resident Flytouch 3 firmware Gurus, has just released his latest beta (4) of his HoneyComb style Flytouch 3 ROM. The ROM series is called FunnyComb and is currently based on Tim's 5a release.

The HoneyComb style user interface has been excellently reproduced by FlanFlinger and offers a smooth and satisfying tablet experience. Links to download the Beta 4 edition of this HoneyComb style ROM can be found here: Download Link

A welcome surprize greeted all owners of the ibex Tegrapad today with the release of Android 3.2 HoneyComb, as a free download firmware update. The Android 3.2 firmware update is available to download direct from apad.tv's ibex Tegrapad technical support forum which can be found here.

ibex have now released their Flytouch 4 Capacitive Multi-touch screen Android tablet computer.*

With a built-in 3G Sim slot and capacitive screen it offers a number of advantages over the Flytouch 3. Firstly with the luxury of in-built 3G capability the tablet can be carried around without the need for any external dongles. Secondly the tablet can be used as a phone if wearing an earpiece connected to the headphone jack. The built in mic on the tablet captures the users audio, so a standard set of headphones is all that is required to transform the tablet in to a fully working phone. The speakers have been updated on the FT4 to give a louder performance than the FT3.

The FT4 still has all of the regular features of the FT3, like GPS, 4GB internal storage memory, but instead of the Ethernet port, for physically networking the tablet instead of using WiFi, the Flytouch 4 features a 3G Sim socket. The Sim socket is also compatible with GSM Sim cards and can also support making and receiving phone calls.
